The turn-based tactical franchise Tiny Metal, clearly inspired by the classic Advance Wars, has just taken a giant leap. The game will receive an official anime adaptation titled Tiny Metal: Zero Line.
The news takes fans by surprise by bringing together big names in the Japanese industry. The animation is under the responsibility of studio SAFEHOUSE, known for the recent Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance.
To complete the elite team, the project is led by Hiroyasu Kobayashi, famous for his work as CG director on the films of the iconic Rebuild of Evangelion franchise, from studio Khara.
##Secret screening and official preview
Although plot details and the premiere date remain closely guarded secrets, the project has already seen behind-the-scenes activity. The pilot episode of Tiny Metal: Zero Line was screened behind closed doors during the Japan Expo event in France.
Despite the screening being restricted to event attendees, an official teaser for the project is already available on the game's YouTube channel, warming up the engines for the global launch.
##The future of the franchise in games
Developed by studio AREA35, the first Tiny Metal arrived on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in 2017, winning over enthusiasts of digital board-style tactics. In 2019, the franchise gained the sequel Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble.
The brand's expansion doesn't stop there. Studio SAFEHOUSE was also responsible for creating the animated cutscenes for Tiny Metal 2, the next chapter in the franchise scheduled to arrive on PCs in spring 2027.
